Case Study Soldan  VivaIP

Soldan Druck in Essen is a middle-sized printing company and a subsidiary of the Hans Soldan publishing company. Increasing demand for brochures and catalogs from the publishing house obliged Soldan Druck to apply new technologies to achieve the ever-shortening lead times being requested.

The Project
Nowadays publishers must be flexible and be able to react to their customers' wishes immediately. This is particularly relevant for overviews of law and legal matters, which often have a high rate of changes. In the foreground here is the rapid modular collation of different newspapers and law bibliographies. These may be collated according to their relevant groups and printed in small quantities.

With the VivaGate product database, the complete data stored was first centralised and structured. Using the comfortable Planning Module in VivaGate, the information is now sorted so that the single newspapers are collated into catalog sections or a complete catalog. The table of contents and indexes as well as the order forms are adapted automatically. At the same time the publisher provides the whole document as a PDF file for direct despatch by E-Mail.

Soldan Druck produces at the moment four different brochures with Viva NWP and will be extending this gradually as a fixed part of their future marketing plans.
